Weeks ago (ok, over 2 months ago to be precise), I invited you to join me on the journey the Lord has been taking me on towards being “vigilantly restful..” I was excited to share snippets of many of the lessons and insights I had been learning. My desire was to start sharing key highlights as I walked through Warren Wiersbe’s book, “God Isn’t in a Hurry.” I had read ahead several chapters beyond what I had shared and was filled with anticipation of what was ahead. I couldn’t wait to advance and progress together. And then....

Gone. Absolutely gone. Missing. Without a trace.

My book was suddenly nowhere to be found. I had set it down on the table next to my favorite spot on the couch. Everyone knows that Dad keeps his current stack of books readily accessible for daily morning consumption, right?!

How frustrating! I had just revealed my plans to the world (ok, at least to the few of you who would be reading along with me here) and now I could not deliver. Worse yet, I was really personally benefiting from the book; I didn’t want to slow my progress!

Aha! Did you catch that? The irony and humor of the situation. Nevertheless, to my knees I went before the Lord. “Father, I see You at work. Help me to rest in what You’re doing here, in and with me.”

““And now, Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in You.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭39:7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

A quick search for the word “wait” in the book of Psalms will reveal a plethora of similar promises to the one above. I take comfort, strength and even admonishment to slow down and pursue the Lord in times of anxiousness and frustration, when I feel as if things are going the way I had imagined, hoped for it planned. And in those moments, what then will I do? “What do I wait for?”

My hope is in Him.

Chapter 1 (God's Not in a Hurry)

https://www.fallsbiblechurch.org/pastorscorner/chapter-1-gods-not-in-a-hurry

https://www.fallsbiblechurch.org/pastorscorner/chapter-1-gods-not-in-a-hurry#comments

Book Highlights

God's Not In a Hurry

Hi loved ones! Pastor Lynn here. As I've shared through various sermons and conversations with you all throughout this year, God has been teaching and writing lessons about being "vigilantly restful" upon my heart. As such, I've been studying many passages of Scripture and reading books that pertain to this ever-needed topic. Would you come along and join me on this journey? I'd like to share with you some of the most impacting quotes, Scriptures and refle [...]

I'd like to share with you some of the most impacting quotes, Scriptures and reflections from the most recent book I am reading entitled, "God's Not in a Hurry" by Warren Wiersbe. I'm capturing the essence of each chapter through visual representations of quotes. Enjoy scrolling through the photos to discover the many nuggets of wisdom with which God is impacting my heart.

As always, please share your thoughts and reactions in the comments below as God works in your hearts through this classic book.
